Why Play Therapy?

For children and adolescents, the approach of play is less intimidating than talk and speaks to their language.  Play is the natural expression of children.  Children do not often have the verbal abilities to express their feelings and thoughts.  Play is a great way to aid children in exploring their feelings and to address any difficulties they have.   Play therapy is a method of meeting and responding to the mental health needs of children and is extensively acknowledged by experts as an effective and suitable intervention in dealing with children’s brain development. Plus it's fun!

Play Therapy can be utilized for everyone, young children, teens, families and adults.  It can be utilized for all kinds of problems and concerns.  Some examples, include

grief, divorce, sadness, anger, sibling rivalry, school issues, social concerns and trauma history.  It can also be used for many diagnosis, ADHD, depression, anxiety and developmental delays.  It supports children in their development and also can strengthen family and sibling relationships.
